Playback speed (in BPM)

What does this setting do?

This feature lets you play interactive sheet music at exactly the tempo that works for you – really, exactly in BPM (beats per minute).

As soon as you click the play button, the notes move automatically at your chosen tempo.

By the way, the default is set to the piece's original speed.

Do all pieces have these features?

Not quite – but for a whole lot of them! Both features are available for about 2,000 of our interactive sheet music pieces. And among those you'll find something for every skill level and every musical style.

What should I do with standard sheet music?

Here you can use Autoscroll – and set the speed between 0.1x and 5.0x. That way you can easily match the tempo to your instrument and your practice level.

How does this help me practice?

The speed setting is a real gamechanger for practicing. Start slow, play without mistakes – and ramp up the tempo bit by bit.

You can fine-tune the tempo super precisely (between 30 and 240 BPM) – and even sync up with an external metronome. Or just use our digital (synchronized) metronome.

How do I get back to the original tempo?

You’ll usually find the original tempo right at the start of the sheet music. Just set the slider to match it. In the app, it’s one click back to the standard tempo.
