Simply put: It lets you listen to the pieces.
To be more precise, you’re not actually hearing a “real” sound, but a digital version of the notes – basically a technical musical description of how the piece is played.
Not exactly – but for a whole bunch! You can play our about 2,000 interactive scores with MIDI sound. And among those you’ll find pieces for all skill levels and music genres.
MIDI Sound might seem basic, but it’s super helpful when practicing:
Listen: Already on your first listen, you’ll get a feel for the piece – that helps you understand it better and figure out if you want to practice it.
Practice one hand: You can set if you want to hear only your right, only your left, or both hands. That way you can, for example, just learn the melody first and have the rest play along.
Play along: A lot of folks just play along with the MIDI sound – just like using a musical metronome. That gives you confidence and a feel for timing.
