The annotation feature is handy if you want to write fingerings or comments on your sheet music. Basically, anything that helps you while practicing and playing.
You can show or hide your notes anytime. Just use the button in the annotations menu.
There are lots of ways to edit your notes:
Pen: Perfect for small notes, drawn freehand.
Highlighter: Ideal for highlighting specific spots.
Text: Perfect for somewhat longer or extra legible notes—even without a pen. Tap or click the menu to move your text, double-tap or double-click to open the color options.
Eraser: With the eraser you can easily remove small mistakes. Of course, there’s also an own “Undo” and “Redo” function.
Symbols: Here you’ll find a collection of the most important music symbols, perfect for adding fingerings or dynamics marks.
Selection Tool: With this you can adjust size, color, position, and rotation of your notes—or just delete them. Here’s how:
Choose selection tool
Choose object (marking, text, symbol)
To change color, choose selection tool again. To move it, just move the object itself.
You can turn on annotations in the top menu bar or, on your phone, in the bottom menu bar.
Desktop: top menu bar
Smartphone: top menu bar
Tablet: top menu bar
Smartphone: top menu bar
Tablet: bottom menu bar
You’ll find an improved stylus feature in our app: You can personalize up to five pens—for example, different colors or line thickness—and use them for all your sheets. Settings for pen size and color are simpler, but make sure your annotations stay extra consistent across every sheet.
A little difference to the web version: In the app, you can’t change the size or color of objects afterwards using the selection tool—you can only move them. This way, it’s just quicker to create the object again in the size and color you actually want.
